Rezital "Nogaku" in Zurich

Concert @ Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich last Sunday where I played Mei for flute solo of Kazuo Fukushima and another contemporary work composed by Werner Bärtschi.

Concert started by Mei then Refrain / Stockhausen, Toccata due / Werner Bärtschi witch I played with Mr. Bärtschi. It was interesting work and pity to play just once. I really want to play this work again.

2nd part is "Nogaku" by Umewaka Kenno-kai. I was happy to listen Nohkan (flute for the Nô theatre) which I learned.

Mei is inspired by the Nô theatre music, shakuhachi music. Because I've learned for long time Japanese traditional music, I try to play more like Japanese flute than normal european flute. But actually I've been wondering how it sounds for traditional musicians.

After my performance, one of them told me that it would be nice to play the tsudzumi (Traditional hand drum) together and another told me that it was Nohkan music. Those comments made me happy. That means all skills and knowledge I've gained till now for my "Japanese music performance" were not wasted 😊

Sound checking for the radio. Nice picture :-)
